Frequently Asked Questions
Why loose leaf tea?
Quality loose leaf tea is the best way to enjoy the taste and benefits of tea. You can’t actually see what’s in a tea bag, and oftentimes they are filled with “dust and fannings”. When tea leaves are ground up to a near-powder, they lose their aroma, flavor, and benefits. When you steep loose leaf tea, the tea leaves will absorb water and expand as they infuse, yielding a more flavorful cup.
How is your tea packaged?
All of our loose leaf tea is packaged when you place an order, never pre-packaged. This method provides the freshest cup of tea every time. We heat seal our pouches for orders placed online, which ensures the tea is airtight and eliminates contamination. You can order in 2, 4, or 6oz quantities, but keep in mind that some teas are denser than others. That means you can order 2 oz of different teas, and the pouches they come in may be different sizes.
How many cups of tea does 2oz make?
The majority of our teas call for 1 tsp of tea for every 8 oz of water. With this ratio, 2oz of tea will make approximately 30 cups of tea. Make sure to read the steeping instructions provided.

Are all of your teas organic?
The majority of the teas we carry are organic, however some of the small producers we work with cannot afford the costly process of organic certification.
How do I steep the tea?
Steeping your tea correctly is important to getting the most out of the flavor. We recommend different steeping temperatures and times depending on the tea you’re drinking. All of our steeping instructions are found on the product page on our website as well as the package itself. Water quality is often overlooked, and we like to use fresh spring water for the best taste and final aroma.
Does tea expire?
The short answer is no, however tea does lose its freshness over time. Store your tea in a dry, cool place and keep it well sealed in an airtight container. To ensure freshness, we recommend consuming tea blends within 6 months and traditional teas within 12 months of your purchase.
