Herbal Blends

Herbal blends, also known as tisanes, are typically a blend of herbs, spices, flowers, and dried fruit. These are actually an infusion or decoration made from substances other than Camellia Sinensis. Therefore, these are not considered tea. It is steeped until the water absorbs the oils and flavors. Americans have a habit of referring to all leafy beverages steeped in water as tea, which is incorrect. Herbal infusions have a long history, dating back to ancient China and Egypt, where tisanes were drunk both for enjoyment and medicinal purposes.
